Ningi was suspended for three months the Senate for alleging that N3.7 trillion was padded in the budget for the 2024 fiscal year without link to any project or location.
Two weeks after his suspension, Ningi gave the Senate President Godswill Akpabio through his counsel, Falana, a 7-day ultimatum for Akpabio to lift his suspension or he would seek legal redress.
