Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara has revealed that his implementation of the peace pact brokered by President Bola Tinubu was out of respect for the President.
He made the declaration when members of the state Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees paid him a solidarity visit in Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

The governor spoke out after his silence on the political crisis in the state when he addressed a solidarity rally by the Union Members from the 23 Local Government Areas who converged on the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Governor Fubara said his decision to implement the presidential peace pact as a sign of respect for Bola Tinubu, adding that “And for those who see it as a sign of defeat, the Governor promised to surprise them.”
He said the majority of the people in the state support hind him, adding that while the crisis persists, he would remain focused on
governance.
Organizers of the rally said they thank the Governor for his worker-friendly policies.
