The Sokoto state Police Command has confirmed attack on Kasarawa community in Wamakko local government area of Sokoto state.
Kasarawa is located along Sultan Abubakar III International Airport which is few kilometres from the state’s metropolis.
The Public Relation Officer of the Command, ASP Ahmed Rufa’i said one person who was later identified as a staff of NDLEA in the state was gunned down by the assailants.
They also kidnapped three other persons.
“The personnel was hit by a stray bullet while coming back to the city in his car.
“He was rushed to the hospital but died along the way,” he said.
A resident of the area, Dr. Adamu Bello Kasarawa told our reporter that, the bandits came around 9:30 on Thursday and started shooting in the air.
“Then people started running helter skelter. They abducted three person in the area and shot at oncoming vehicle and the bullet hit it’s driver,” he said.
