It was a powerful combination to start with, the son of a business mogul and former Military Governor of Kano State marrying the daughter of the Chief of Defence Staff [and future Head of State].

Guests at this wedding did not know that they were looking at the Niger State First Couple 19 years down the line. Abubakar Sani Bello also made history as the first governor to be sworn-in by his mother in law, the state Chief Judge.
