The police in Benue have rescued a 13-year-old girl Mngusuur Iorlian, from the hands of kidnappers.
She was abducted from her home on Easter Sunday in Kwande council area of Benue state.
Spokesperson of the Benue state police Command, Catherine Anene who confirmed the incident in Makurdi, said the police are currently trailing the fleeing suspects.
Residents of Kwande said the girl was taken away by her captors at about 12:00 pm on Sunday from her father’s residence, located opposite NKST Church, Akpera in Adikpo in Kwande LGA.
Anene said the Police special squad rescued the teenage victim Sunday night and arrested one of the suspects, identified as Vershima Sunday.
She said the Police also recovered a motorcycle suspected to have been used by the criminals for the operation was recovered by the operatives.
Anene said the girl has been reunited with her parent.
