A 42-year-old woman, Ammi Adamu Mamman, has been killed in her residence at Bra Bra Housing Estate in Damaturu, Yobe State capital by unknown persons.
She was found dead with a deep cut on her neck.
The state Police spokesperson, DSP Dungus Abdulkareem, said in a statement on Friday that the state criminal investigation department had started investigating the killing to arrest the culprits.
Abdulkareem said both Ammi and her husband Abubakar Musa, 43, of New Bra Bra Housing Estate Bye- pass Maiduguri Road in Damaturu were sleeping on the same bed when she was stabbed with an object on her neck, resulting in heavy bleeding and death.
He said the husband was arrested for interrogation.
It reads in part, “Finding revealed that the couple are staff of the Yobe State University (YSU) Damaturu.
“The command condoled with the bereaved families as efforts have been intensified to unravel and arrest the perpetrators.”
