Katsina Utd have been charged N2.7 Million for breaching the NPFL Framework and Rules in their Match day 18 game vs Kwara Utd.
League Management Company (LMC) announced this on its facebook page.
Members of their contingent prevented the visiting team Kwara Utd from leaving the pitch after their match, and threw chairs on the referees which in the process injured the center referee.
They have been fined N2 million for failing to provide adequate protection for the match official(s) and visiting team Kwara United.
They will also pay a fine of N250, 000 as compensation to the injured referee and N500, 000 for misconduct capable of bringing game disrepute.
Katsina Utd’s subsequent home matches are to be played behind closed doors, admitting only participating teams – officials, match officials and league officials.
The closed door sanction on Katsina Utd’s home games will continue until a satisfactory security plan is put in place at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
