With a brace, Richarlison led Tottenham to a 4-1 victory over Newcastle, their first since October 27. This time, however, things turned out differently because of Ange Postecoglou’s team selection, as Richarlison, who was called back, scored twice after Destiny Udogie broke the tie in the 26th minute.
After switching back to the left wing, Son Heung-min set up two of those goals. Five minutes remaining, he scored his 10th goal of the season from the penalty spot, and Joelinton gave Eddie Howe’s team a late consolation goal.
Before Newcastle came close to taking the lead in the ninth minute, Richarlison had one effort blocked and another deflected wide in the first five minutes.
