A 40-year-old man, Awaisu Auwalu, has been arrested in Kano for allegedly beating his son to death over missing gallons of palm oil in his shop.
Spokesperson of the state Police Command, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said Awaisu used a stick to beat his 19-years-old son, Auwalu Awaisu, to death.
Kiyawa, said the victim was taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where he died on Monday at about 6am.
He said the deceased father confessed that he flogged his son with a stick, alleging that the deceased stole severally from his provision store.
Kiyawa said the suspect would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
