Gunmen on Wednesday attacked former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Prof. Charles Soludo.
Three policemen who were among security personnel attached to the former CBN governor were killed during the attack.
Soludo is one of the frontline aspirants for the November governorship election in Anambra State.
A security source said the incident happened at Soludo’s community in Isuofia, Aguata local government area of Anambra State when he was having a political meeting with the youths of the area.
He said the event was disrupted when gunmen stormed the venue and opened fire, killing three of his security aides.
The source said the former CBN governor was safe, as security operatives have taken him to a safe place.
