Nigeria’s veteran actor, Usman Baba Pategi, popularly known as Samanja, is dead.
He died in Kaduna at the age of 84.
The Kaduna-based Hausa film icon died at approximately 12:15 am on Sunday.
Mohammad Usman Baba Patigi, his son, confirmed the sad news in Kaduna on Sunday morning, disclosing that the actor is survived by two wives and 12 children.
The actor’s funeral prayer took place at Kabala Costain mosque around 10 am, with a considerable number of sympathizers in attendance.
His remains were laid to rest at Bashama Muslims cemetery, following Islamic rites.
