The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, has alleged that security agents, especially the army were conniving with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig his party out.
Sylva and his wife, Alaingi, who voted, however, said his party would win at the end of the day.
He said: “In some cases, we believe that we are running an election not against the PDP but security, but we are containing the situation so that at the end of the day, we will come out victorious.
“We are told in Yenagoa, there has been a lot of violence, a lot of police actions, in fact this morning, I woke with a story of one of my APC members shot, by afternoon, we have a situation where the army especially, has taken over some areas, in Biseni Community.
“They said it’s the army that acts there with PDP to snatch ballot boxes and so on, I don’t know the extent it’s going on but frankly speaking, security agencies in Bayelsa are playing on the part of the PDP.”
