Minister of information and national orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, has cautioned foreign missions in the country against needless security advisories.
According to him, there was the need to take care as such advisories had far-reaching implications on the general polity as well as the country’s economy.
The minister, in an interaction with media managers in Abuja, on Monday, said the federal government was not resting on its oars to ensure that every inch of land and every citizen, resident and visitor in the country is secured.
He said it was this commitment that had resulted in the recent successes recorded, including neutralisation of insurgents and bandits in the North East and North West by security forces, foiling of planned attacks, recovery of arms and securing the release of some kidnapped persons.
Malagi said President Bola Tinubu was eager to get the country back on track and it was for this reason that he had directed the reactivation of the Presidential Delivery Tracker to empower Nigerians to be able to track the implementation of projects across the country real-time, pointing out that all Nigerians must be given the opportunity to track and report on the implementation of projects across the country.
The Presidential Delivery Tracker and an accompanying website developed by the Central Delivery Coordination Unit was first inaugurated in August 2022.
The PDT/CDCU is designed to track, review and periodically report the activities of MDAs, performances of ministers and permanent secretaries, among others, in the delivery of their ministerial mandates.
The minister reiterated President Tinubu’s commitment to his 8 point agenda, which is “Reform the economy to deliver sustained inclusive growth; Strengthen national security for peace and prosperity; Boost agriculture to achieve food security; Unlock energy and natural resources for sustainable development; Enhance infrastructure and transportation as enablers of growth; Focus on education, health, and social investment as essential pillars of development; Accelerate diversification through industrialisation, digitisation, creative arts, manufacturing & innovation; and Improve governance for effective service delivery,” and the need for all Nigerians to work with him for a new Nigeria.
