Former governor of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu has not been suspended from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A statement by the party’s North Central Caretaker Committee Publicity Secretary Suleiman Mohammed disclosed this, saying the former governor is and still remains a member of the PDP Board of Trustees and NEC
Eight of the 11 ward Chairmen where the former governor belongs announced Monday that Babangida Aliyu has been suspended for anti-party activities.
While denying the suspension, the statement said “the truth is that Dr. Babangida Aliyu who is a serving the Board of Trustees and NEC member is not and cannot be suspended by the local government chapter of the party.”
The party said the public should disregard the news of the suspension as fake while also urging members of the PDP in the state to unite and come together to avoid the mistake that made the party to lose elections.
