A ministerial nominee from Kaduna State, Balarabe Abbas, on Wednesday fainted during senate screening at the National Assembly.
The upper chamber abruptly went into closed door session after the incident.
Video footage shows the nominee, who replaced former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, being attended to by two officers of the Sergeant-at-arms.
Mr Abbas, who was standing on the podium, slumped when Kaduna South Senator, Sunday Marshall Katung, was speaking about the nominee’ administrative experience in Kaduna.
Mr Abbas, a current Secretary to the State Government (SSG), was the second nominee to be screened after Ms Jamila Ibrahim Bio.
The senate security officials were seen trying to revive the 63- year-old nominee back to his feet but to no avail.
It would be recalled that President Bola Tinubu transmitted Mr Abbas, Ms Bio and Olawale Olawande to the senate for screening.
