The election of the Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Moses Sule, has been nullified on Friday.
The National and State Houses of Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal nullified the election of the lawmaker who represented the Mikang State constituency on Friday.
Sule was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, and is the current Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
The tribunal also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return given to him and give it to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Daniel Nanlong, who scored the second-highest number of votes cast during the election.
The tribunal ruled against the speaker because his party, the PDP, lacked legal structure to nominate him as a candidate to stand for election during the last poll.
