After six weeks of break, the Senate resumed plenary on Tuesday.
They thereafter went into a closed-door session to deliberate on issues affecting the nation.
At the plenary session, they considered the screening and confirmation of the nomination of Olayemi Cardosos for appointment as the governor Central Bank of Nigeria.
President Bola Tinubu appointed Cardoso, who last week assumed office as the acting CBN governor.
The Senators will screen and confirm, at the committee of the whole, the appointment of four new deputy governors; namely Emem Nnana Usoro, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, Philip Ikeazor and Bala M. Bello.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio urged all aggrieved lawmakers to sheath their swords and cooperate with his leadership.
He said the progress of the country was paramount at the moment, adding that it could only be achieved in a state of unity.
