A magistrate court sitting in Suleja, Niger State, on Wednesday ordered the remand of four persons accused of killing three siblings and dumping their remains inside a plastic water reservoir.
The suspects, Cosmas Ezenma, Christopher Aiwonyo, Elvis Osagie, and Zakari Yahaya, were arraigned before the court on charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide, which are contrary to sections 97 and 221 of the penal code.
Police prosecutor, Jonathan Garba, told the court that father of the three victims, one Aroh Chinedu, reported to the Suleja police ‘B’ division that his wife who operates a business inside the IBB Market, Suleja, had discovered that their three children were missing upon returning home on February 27.
Garba said the children, Chidozie Aroh, 9, Chidubem Aroh, 6, and Chidinma Aroh, 3, were later found dead and naked, inside a plastic water tank behind their apartment. He conducted the police investigation which led to the arrest of the suspects.
He said the suspects were said to be close family friends who had direct access to the victims’ home.
All the four accused persons have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Aisha Zakari adjourned the matter to April 22, for hearing, but ordered that accused person be remanded in prison custody.
