Controversial Nigerian Hausa hip-hop artist, Mubarak Abdulkarim, a.k.a Mr 442, on Wednesday released a footage of himself and his manager while in Nigerien prison.
The video posted on his various social media accounts had generated a serious debate between his fans and other fans of the Hausa hip-hop industry. The video showed Mr 442 and his manager Ola while in prison.
The video showed the two artists in a prison and one of them was saying, “This is Arewa international in Nigerien prison, you can see how we are all sweating and look at how we have grown old simply for passport reason. We are optimistic we are going to be out, but really, we have suffered.”
Comments on the videos shows that while many sympathizes with the artists, others were saying it serves them right because they asked for it.
It can be recalled that the two Nigerian artists were arrested at a passport center in Maradi of Niger Republic by the Niger border and migration control agency, the Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire (DST). They were accused of trying to illegally obtain a Nigerien passport.
They artists also served a jail term of eight month before they were released on on the 18th of July,2023. The 28 year old Zaria born artis has been in the forefront of entertainment news ever since he pitched a tent with Safara’u whose nude videos got viral.
