Chairman BUA Cement, Abdulsamad Rabiu, has launched a $100m Annual Africa Fund for social development and renewal.
A statement by the BUA boss said while $50m is dedicated to Nigeria, the $50m balance target other countries in the continent.
He noted that ASR Africa is extending its work to the education, health and social development sectors.
He said the initiative aimed to focus on equipping facilities, researchers, healthcare practitioners and community- level service providers, with the aim of providing sustainable solutions for generations to come.
He said Ahmadu Bello University, University of Maiduguri, University of Nigeria, University of Benin, University of Ilorin, and University of Ibadan would get N1bn each in grants to towards the initiation and upgrading of infrastructure in the first phase of such interventions.
