Kano state government has cancelled the certificates of operation of all the private schools in the state with immediate effect.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to Kano state governor on private and voluntary institutions, Alhaji Baba Abubakar Umar, at a meeting with proprietors of private schools in the state on Saturday.
Umar said all the schools are expected to collect new registration form to fill for new certificate to be issued to them after they have fulfilled the necessary requirements for the new registration.
He further explained that the state government’s commitment towards sanitizing the private schools operations is targeted in ensuring adherence to established laws and guidelines.
Similarly, speaking on behalf of the proprietors, chairman National Association of Private Schools Owners ,Kano state chapter Alhaji Muhammad Malam Adamu, described the move as fantastic and commendable as it will further boost the education sector in the state adding members of the association will cooperate with the new directives.
