The Kano Stare Filns and Videos Censorship Board under the leadership of the newly appointed Director Abbah El-Mustapha has revoked the licenses of all Kannywood practitioners in the state.
Shading light on the board’s decision, El-Mustapha revealed that as a regulatory body of the Hausa film making industry there is a need for the board to put its house in order by developing up-to-date data of practitioners in the industry.
He explained that the cancellation has become necessary for the board to be able to put the system on track of the rebranding processes of the industry embarked by the board under the new administration.
The director further stated that it is time for the Hausa film industry to move forward with the trend and in accordance with laid down rules as well as conformity to religion and culture of the Hausa people.
