The All Progressives Congress (APC) of Delta State, Ovie Omo-Agege, has until July 11 to regularize his documents or could face sanctions.
The Delta State Governorship Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba headed by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu gave the threat at the resumed hearing of the APC candidate’s petition against the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The tribunal adjourns the hearing on the petition till July 11, 2023, for a definite hearing, warning that if the petitioners are unable to conclude the regularisation of the documents to be tendered, the tribunal would invoke the relevant sections of the law against them.
The tribunal had earlier in the hearing adjourned sitting briefly for 40 minutes to enable the petitioners to regularise the documents.
Counsel to Omo-Agege, A.K. Osawota had attempted to submit more documents before the tribunal.
Osawota, who was represented by Bello Abu, asked the court for adjournment due to the inability to pull through the regularisation process.
