A 24-hour curfew has been slammed on the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The Director of Press and Public Affairs to Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, Gyang Bere revealed this on Sunday in a statement
The 24-hour curfew was necessitated by the recent gunmen attacks in the area which led to the killings of locals and setting of houses ablaze.
The statement read, “The Governor, in consultation with the State Security Council, imposed the curfew by on the entire Local Government Area to restore law and order.
“Consequently, movements within the Local Government have been banned until further notice except for security personnel and persons on essential duties.
“Security agencies have therefore been directed to ensure total enforcement of the curfew.”
The government has assured the people that it is working round-the-clock to restore peace and security in the state.
This is the second curfew to be imposed in Mangu LGA on Sunday in less than one month.
