Eden Hazard has been ruled out of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash against Atalanta after suffering a fresh injury.
Hazard returned to action in Madrid’s 2-1 Liga victory over Elche on Saturday, but has picked up another knock ahead of the club’s Champions league game.
The Belgian winger missed first-team training on Monday, with the club confirming that he is suffering with a muscle issue.
Madrid will have to try and qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals without Hazard on Tuesday night, having already gained an advantage in the first leg over Atalanta by winning in Italy 1-0.
Depending on the severity of Hazard’s injury, he could also be unavailable for the trip to Celta Vigo on March 20 as their defence of Laliga continues.
