A fertility specialist who was suspected of using his sperm to fertilize many patients has passed away when a plane carrying him crashed.
New Yorker Dr. Morris Wortman, 72, was a passenger in the experimental plane that crashed on Sunday. According to police, the hand-built aircraft crashed and the pilot died in the collision as well. The Wittman W-5 Buttercup plane, as identified by the US National Transportation Safety Board, was still under investigation as of Tuesday.
According to police, the investigation has shown that the plane was brought down by a significant flaw.”The wings of the aircraft became detached from the fuselage and fell to the ground in an orchard,” Sheriff Christopher Bourke said. In western New York, Dr. Wortman was well-known and frequently the target of anti-abortion demonstrators. He was sued in 2021 by the daughter of one of his patients who got pregnant under his care in the 1980s.
