About 559 Nigerian pilgrim from Jigawa State have escaped death by the whiskers as lightning struck the Max Air aircraft conveying them to Saudi Arabia.
The incident happened Wednesday evening minutes after the plane took off from Dutse International Airport Dutse, Jigawa state capital.
The aircraft, with flight NGL1009, had to do an emergency landing at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano.
The flight which left Dutse airport around 3:46pm on Wednesday, was heading to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The noose of the Max Air aircraft, with registration number Max B747-HMM, was damaged.
