The platform where the new Governor of Kano state, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, was sitting alongside top dignitaries has collapsed during his inauguration on Monday in Kano.
The platform caved in when the Mr Yusuf nicknamed Abba Gidagida, was with his deputy was taking their oath of office administered by the acting chief justice of the state.
However, no one was injured.
Mr Yusuf was set to leave after he was sworn in when the structure collapsed but he just escaped.
The new govenor was given a helping hand by his security personnel, including the state police commissioner, Ahmad Gumel.
The development interrupted the ceremony as the new governor could not watch the parade of the king’s costumes, because of the crowd of supporters who filled the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata.
