The Federal government has conveyed a meeting with key stakeholders including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with Mobile Network Operators and financial institutions with a view to resolving issues surrounding Unstructured Supplementary Services Data services to banks.
It therefore put on hold move to disconnect banks from USSD services over N42 billion debt, earlier announced by the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria.
Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami’s directive on the development was contained in a statement by the Technical Assistant (Information Technology), Dr. Femi Adeluyi.
The statement said the purpose of the meeting was to ensure an amicable resolution of the impasse.
