Iran says Palestine and its resistance movements are determined and well-equipped to deal another blow to Israel in the face of new deadly airstrikes on the Gaza Strip by the occupying regime.
On Thursday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani made the remarks via Twitter, as the dead toll from Israel’s assault on Gaza surpassed two dozen.
“Over the past two days, the occupiers targeted about 200 points in the Gaza Strip. The regime’s main targets were residential areas. [the raids] have so far left more than 25 martyrs and dozens of wounded, especially among children and women,” he wrote.
“Despite the Zionists’ atrocities, Palestine stands oppressed but with authority, and the martyrdom of some resistance commanders will not prevent it from delivering a response to the regime.”
The Israeli regime has been staging back-to-back aerial assaults against the blockaded Palestinian enclave since Tuesday.
At least 25 Palestinians have been killed and 76 others injured as a result of the incessant aggression.
The fatalities include civilians as well as several commanders of the Islamic Jihad resistance movement.
Gaza resistance fighters have fired more than 500 rockets in retaliation for the bombings, injuring 25 Israelis and setting off sirens across the occupied territories, including Tel Aviv.
Kan’ani also posted pictures of the aftermath of the fatal Israeli attacks.
“Palestine and its resistance groups are united, determined and equipped. The occupying regime and the usurping residents of the occupied lands will get nothing except a defeat for their current crimes, as was the case in the past,” he wrote.
“Nevertheless, the Palestinian nation’s resilience and struggle against the aggressors do not absolve Islamic governments and nations from the responsibility to provide strong and effective support for Palestine.”
