The passports of the suspended Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, and two other Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commissioners and other officials have been seized and all of them are restricted to the Federal Capital Territory.
The seizure and restriction were done preparatory for his bail.
Yunusa-Ari who was interrogated and detained for three days at the Force Headquarters is currently being probed by the police, for illegally announcing the Adamawa State gubernatorial results rerun election midway into collation. Yunusa-Ari declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Sen. Aisha Dahiru Binani as the winner of the overall election, but the INEC swiftly over-turned Yunusa-Ari and ordered recollation of the results which finally showed incumbent Governor Ahmadu Fintori as the winner.
