The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Ahmadu Fintiri as the winner of the Adamawa governorship election.
He was declared by the INEC Returning Officer for the state, Prof Muhammed Mele, on Tuesday.
Mr Fintiri won by 430,869 votes, and was therefore returned as the governor of the state for the March 8, 2023 governorship elections.
He defeated his closed rival Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani of the APC who polled 398,788 votes.
Professor Mele said Adamawa state has a total registered voters of 2,166,566, but only 876,387 were accredited.
The total votes cast at the election was 853,861, according to the Prof Mele.
There was 15,287 rejected votes.
