eToro, a trading and investing website, announced on Thursday that it has teamed with Elon Musk’s Twitter to provide users with real-time prices for cryptocurrencies, equities, and other assets.
The trading data will be available via Twitter’s Cashtags feature, which was introduced in 2012 and lets users interact with material centered on an asset by placing a dollar sign in front of the ticker.
Previously, Twitter users could view real-time trading data from markets-charting platform TradingView, but only on select assets such as the S&P 500 index and shares of specific businesses such as Tesla (TSLA.O).
They can now navigate to eToro’s platform to learn more about the asset, with the option to invest.
Since acquiring Twitter for $44 billion in late October, Musk has implemented a number of changes to the microblogging platform, including the implementation of a subscription-based scheme for verified users and mass layoffs.
