Millions of Nigerian voters have started trooping out to vote for 28 state governors and 993 state assembly members today.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that governorship elections will hold in 28 states of the federation, while state assembly elections will hold in 36 states.
The eight states where they have off-season elections include Osun, Ekiti, Kogi, Bayelsa, Anambra, Edo, Ondo and Imo.
The governorship elections is generating serious tension in some states where the ruling All Prpgressives Congress lost the presidential election to tbe opposition parties. These states include Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Lagos, Abia, Oyo, Enugu, Sokoto, Bauchi, Delta, and Plateau.
Also, 11 serving governors are seeking re-election in the ongoing election today.
