Immediately after the conclusion of the 2023 presidential and National Assembly’s election, the race for the leadership of the 10th National Assembly has started as a group of North-West youths under the auspices of North-West Progressive youths has revealed modalities and processes that will convince Hon. (Dr) Abbas Tajudeen, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Land from Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna State under the All Progressive Congress (APC) to be considered vying for the seat of the next Speaker of the 10th Federal House of Representatives.
In a statement issued in Kano and signed by the group’s Secretary General Comrade Ibraheem Mu’azzam stated that the call has become necessary because Dr. Tajuddeen possesses remarkable qualities among his peers adding that he had also gathered enough experience with a starling record as a member of the House of Representatives from the 7th assembly to date.
“Indeed the history of the Nigerian National Assembly wouldn’t be complete without giving reasonable consideration to the positive contributions given by Dr. Tajuddeen to the nation’s development. No doubt, the people of Zaria kept voting for him as he had demonstrated a strong sense of positive development, leadership, and zeal for national development. We want to use this opportunity to urge all contenders to put aside their bids and join hands with Dr. Tajuddeen in building a greater Nigeria.
The statement added that it is on record that Dr. Tajudden had sponsored about 75 bills in the 9th National Assembly adding that some of the bills sponsored by him and assented to by President Buhari include the National Blood Transfusion Bill and a Bill for an Act to Repeal the Nigeria Council for Management Development Act Cap N99 Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and National Centre for Economic Management and Administration Act Cap. N14 Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and Enact the Nigeria Council for Management Development Bill 2021.
