The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday presented Certificates of Return to the President-Elect Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Vice President-Elect Kashim Shettima.
INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu in a brief ceremony presented the certificates at the International Conference Center (ICC) venue of the National Collation Center in Abuja.
Tinubu, accompanied by his wife Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was the first to collect the certificate, then Shetima, also accompanied by his wife Nana, received his own certificate.
The two leaders each took turn to shake hands with all INEC Commissioners on the high table.
The event was witnessed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha; National Security Adviser, (NSA) Maj-Gen Babagana Monguno; and Service Chiefs including Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
Also present in the capacity-filled ICC, were Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, some governors, members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), serving and senators-elect, serving House or reps and Reps-elect, among others.
