Ahmad Sani Muhammad of All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared as winner for Bakura/Maradun federal constituency election in Zamfara state.
Mr Ahmad is a son to the first civilian Governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura.
APC scored 55,292 votes, while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 17,555 votes.
He was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.
The Returning Officer for the election, Dr Ahmad Kainuwa of Federal University Gusau, said the winner “has satisfied all the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes cast in the election.”
