Three people are feared dead as some thugs attempted to set the local government office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on fire in Takai local government area of Kano state.
According an eyewitness Shehu Garba Takai the incident happened on Sunday morning after a clash between some party supporters erupted. Unconfirmed sources said 3 lives were lost during the clash.
According to him the thugs attempted to set the whole place abkaze, but the fire was put off in good time.
However, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kano, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the attempt saying the fire was set up from a generator which was stationed at the back of the centre. He however said the comman is not aware of any lost of lives.
