Due to the delay in starting voting, former President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to add more time to allow more eligible voters in cast their ballot.
The INEC fixed 8:30 as time when the voting process would commence and to end at 2:30pm. However, voting started late in some areas with some two hours behind time due to late arrival of INEC officials with materials
Saraki, also a former governor of Kwara State state, expressed worry over the delay in commencement of the exercise.
Saraki, in company of his wife, Toyin Saraki, cast their votes at their polling unit, Ode Opobiyi, 005, Ajikobi, Ilorin, at 12.30 p.m.
He, however, commended INEC on the peaceful conduct of the Presidential and Senatorial elections in Kwara.
He told newsmen in Ilorin after casting his vote on Saturday that the conduct of the elections was satisfactory.
