There was early arrival of voting materials in most polling units in major towns visited, especially in Bakori local government for the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE Correspondent, who monitored the exercise, observed that materials were on ground as early as 8.00 a.m.
In each of the polling units, there was a presence of few security officers like policemen, NDLEA officers, road safety and soldiers.
At Polling Unit 03 and 04 Bakori ward B, all the materials were already in place by 7.39 a.m.
The Presiding Officer confirmed that all the materials needed for the election were available, saying that voters accreditation started to time.
At Polling Unit 023, Bakori A Ward, accreditation and voting started at 8.30 a.m.
A voter, Mrs Sadiya Hassan commended the process, describing it as hitch-free.
Hassan said the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) worked perfectly well.
However, 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE observed a large gathering of voters hanging around for the arrival of electoral officers.
At Yanshuni, Guga Ward in Bakori Local Government area, there was misunderstanding and voting materials were scattered.
There was strict compliance to the restriction of movement, just as the voters conducted themselves in an orderly manner, with men and women in queues.
One of the voters, Mr. Mansur Aminu who is a contestant of house of representative, said the election process had improved with the use of BIVAS, adding that it made the whole process fast and easy.
“I am 62-year-old and I did not go through any stress before voting, compared to that of the last election when I had to stand in queue for a long time before voting.
At Kurami ward, INEC officials got to their duty post early and started voting around 8.45 a.m.
The APC, PDP, AA and PRP party agents confirmed the early arrival of INEC officials, saying that there was no problem in the area.
“Everything is calm and stable. There is no tension. Accreditation/Voting has been on since 8.30 a.m,” he said.
Also, Hon Kamal Umar Shata, an PRP Chieftain and House of Assembly contestant, said He is satisfied.
Sanusi Magayaki, an APC chieftain described the election process as smooth and calm, saying that he was expecting a peaceful outcome across the country.
He expressed optimism that his party, APC will come out victorious after the whole exercise.
