The Niger State Police Command has stopped a grand rally organised for the APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kassim Shettima.
The event was organised by the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and National Coordinator of Project 774 for Tinubu/Shettima 2023, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi.
The event was also meant to drum up support for the governorship candidate of the APC in Niger State, Umar Bago and his running mate, Yakubu Garba.
Police officers have barricaded and locked the gates of New Bussa Township Stadium in Borgu Local Government Area of the state.
The stadium, which was fully rehabilitated and decorated in readiness for the event billed to commence by 11.00am, was locked by the security officers.
