An Area Court Judge Shawomi Bokkos in Jos on Wednesday sentenced Emmanuel Dashe, 26, to one month imprisonment for stealing decorative drape from the government house guest house.
Bokkos, jailed the convict after he pleaded guilty to theft and begged the court for leniency.
The judge gave the convict an option of N 10,000 fine.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat told the court that the case was reported at the Anglo Jos police station on Dec. 5, 2022 by Insp Onuh Onoja attached to the guest house.
Gokwat told the court that the convict confessed to committing the act.
The offence, he said, contravened the Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria.
