Dr. Chinonso Egemba, also known as Aproko Doctor, a well-known health influencer in Nigeria, has said he believes in the country’s health sector and is dedicating his life to seeing it thrive.
On Monday morning, Egemba shared on his social media channels that he had a brain tumour and explained why he chose to have surgery in Nigeria rather than abroad as suggested by friends and well-wishers.
Egemba posted a photo of the physician who performed the procedure and stated, “The surgery was performed by Dr. Tayo Ojo, a neurosurgeon here in Nigeria. Many people pleaded with me to travel abroad to get the surgery, but I stayed because I still had faith in us.
Just more money needs to be put into the health industry.
“Health, and education. These two systems, in my opinion, are essential for every country to succeed. I’ve committed my life to ensuring their success in Nigeria. Hope you notice it as well.
According to earlier reports, the content producer revealed his experience with a brain tumor in a video that was posted on all of his social media channels.
Egemba captioned the video, which was posted on his Twitter page, “I was battling for my life until December of 2022. On December 3, 2022, I lost vision in one eye, and on December 5, a brain tumor was discovered.
“Today, I’m here in front of you to tell you my tale. Although the path to recovery has been lengthy, every day is getting better.
“One thing to understand is that health concerns may happen to you regardless of who you are, including myself,” he added in the video.
Through his social media platforms, Egemba has educated individuals over the years on health-related issues and lifestyle changes that can enhance and sustain good health.
Additionally, he serves as the executive director of the 100kClub, a nonprofit group that provides medical aid to Nigerians in need.
He has also received multiple honors for his work as a health advocate on the nation’s social media platforms.
