The freed 40 students and staff of Government Science College Kagara will remain under medical examinations for a few days before they will be reunited with their families, Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Belo, has said.
He said this on Saturday when he received the kidnapped victims at the Government House, Minna.
The students and staff were released Saturday morning after spending 9 days in the hands of their captors.
The governor said commended the joint efforts of security agents, traditional leaders as well as other relevant stakeholders in rescuing the Kagara school victims from kidnappers.
Bello enjoined the victims to see their experience as one of the lessons of life and should not be discouraged in their educational pursuit.
He said government will put up a system to look at the root causes with the view to finding solutions.
