For the fourth time, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has shunned a debate organised for the Presidential flag bearers for political parties contesting the 2023 elections.
It would be recalled that August, September and October, 2022 Shettima represented Tinubu at the NBA Annual General conference at Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos state; the National Peace Accord, and the Women Radio 91.7 presidential candidates debate held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
Also, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar missed the latest Town hall meeting and instead sent his running mate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.
The absence of the Presidential candidates at the meeting enraged participants at the hall as they booed Okowa.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE reports that some youths rose against Okowa when he stood up to address the hall, insisting that only presidential candidates should be given the floor.
“We want only Presidential Candidates here,” they shouted on top of their voices as they booed the Delta governor.
Despite the ensuing drama, Okowa still addressed the audience, saying the Presidential ticket is one, the engaged youths stood their ground , shouting “Nooooo”
However, normalcy was later restored and the programme kicked off behind schedule.
Other presidential candidates present at the haul were Peter Obi of Labour Party; Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Kola Abiola of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) who took turn to speak. are the only presidential candidates at the town hall.
