Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani has said she is quitting as the Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council in Adamawa State pending the outcome of the appeal she filed against the annulment of her election as the governorship candidate of the party in the state.
Binani made her stand known in a statement in Yola, Adamawa State capital, but sources very closed to the former senator said she relinquished the post following remarks by former Governor Murtala Nyako and some senior stakeholders in the party.
Binano’s candidacy she won in a primary was nullified by a federal high court.
She asked the PCC to appoint an interim coordinator in the meantime.
The state leadership of the APC under Samaila Tadawus had accused her of sidelining the party and singlehandedly appointing members of the campaign team in the state without due consultation.
