Churches would be relevant if they are able to positively impact the society to remain relevant.
General Overseer (G O) of the Calvary Christian Church Lagos, Archbishop Joseph Ojo, disclosed this on Friday, saying impacting the society through the Gospel and its works was essential to bring people back to God.
Ojo said it has become necessary to revive the missionary spirit of the Church as it was in the early Church to spiritually and materially empower people for development.
He said the church ought to complement the government to improve people’s welfare that will bring peace and order in the society, adding that “our world today needs all hands to be on deck to reform it to the glory of God and comfort of the people.
“Our youth seems to lack role models to emulate the Church through its works, to create avenues through which this lack can be solved.
“Involving the youth in voluntary services to the society fosters a sense of responsibility and patriotism in the younger persons,” he said.
