Two persons have been killed in cult clashes on Monday and Tuesday in Ibagun/Okelele community, Ilorin, in the Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The killing spree started around 8pm on Monday when one AbdulGaniy, aka Messi, was gunned down.
The following day Tuesday, the deceased’s gang members reportedly killed one Adebayo Yitta, at his Aso Oke weaving centre.
An anonymous local said, “Adebayo was hacked to death after he was shot. Also, one Lanre was killed today (Tuesday).”
The state Police spokesperson SP Ajayi Okasanmi, could not make any statement on the incident, saying he has not been briefed.
The District Head of Ibagun in Okelele community, Ilorin, Malam Sakariyau Ilufemiloye, said two persons were killed by the cultists on Monday and Tuesday.
He has summoned an emergency meeting of all family heads and the security committee in the community over the development.
