Mr Confidence Amatobi has allegedly broke the arm of his two-month-old son for disturbing his sleep.
After committing the crime, Mr escaped.
Neighbor’s of the area in Owerri, Imo State capital, are enraged by the suspect’s action and have demanded his immediate arrest and prosecution.
The kid was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, where the affected hand was amputated to save his life.
The state Coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission, Mrs Uka Ukachi, on Tuesday, has visited the infant and his nmother at Ward 13, FMC, Owerri.
Mrs. Ukach has called on public-spirited individuals to come to the rescue of the child and his mother, while also urging the police to fish out the suspect and arrest him and answer for his crime.
She said NHRC was committed to ensuring that the victim got justice.
She said, “The man is on the run. The boy’s hand has been amputated. He is at the FMC, Owerri. We want the father to answer for his crime. We demand his arrest. The kid needs justice.”
