A lawmaker representing Goronyo Constituency, Faruku Rimawa, has explained how his 18- years old son was abducted on Wednesday.
Speaking to our reporter on phone, the lawamker said the boy and his mother went to Rimawa, his hometown, to visit his relatives.
“They went there on Tuesday. And on Wednesday around 4pm, the village was attacked by bandits.
“I am sure the bandits were informed about their visit by their informants because they only came to my house.
“When my child heard that bandits were spotted in the village, he rushed home and informed his mother.
“He was the first to come out of the house in their bid to escape the attack but unfortunately for him, the bandits were already outside, about nine of them.
“They came on three motorcycles. They killed a vigilante who came to visit his boss in the area and injured another person.
“I know this is a work of informants because it was only my son that was taken away,” he said
Rimawa said the bandits called him last night and promised to call back again with their demands.
Goronyo council chairman, Abdulwahab Goronyo said he got to know about the incident while condoling a bereaved family in Goronyo with the state chairman of PDP, Bello Goronyo.
“And I informed our security operatives who went to the village but missed the attackers because they had already ran away,” he said.
